About

I am a Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) and Yoga Teacher based in Toronto, with over 20 years of personal and professional experience in yoga and more than 1,000 hours of specialized Yoga Therapy training. My work focuses on making yoga accessible, adaptable, and meaningful for people with diverse needs, abilities, and life experiences.

My teaching experience spans clinical, healthcare, community, and studio settings. I currently work with older adults at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, facilitate yoga programs through Wellspring for people affected by cancer, including those recovering from treatment and caregivers, and deliver community-based yoga programs through Right2Yoga. My previous experience includes working with people living with multiple sclerosis and acquired brain injuries at West Park Healthcare Centre, older adults in mental health and psychogeriatric care settings at CAMH, and individuals living with Parkinson’s disease through Parkinson Canada. I have also taught youth and community-based programs, including at FCJ Refugee Centre and Kennedy House Youth Services.

Throughout my career, I have worked with people experiencing a wide range of physical, cognitive, and mental health challenges. My approach emphasizes individualized adaptations, accessible movement, breathing practices, mindfulness, and relaxation, with attention to each person's abilities, comfort, and goals. I aim to create supportive environments where participants can explore their own capacities, build confidence, and develop practices that extend beyond the yoga session.

My training includes Restorative and Yin Yoga, iRest Yoga Nidra Meditation Teacher Training with Richard Miller, Yoga for Kids and Youth, Yoga for Stress and Anxiety, Pre- and Postnatal Yoga, and Applied Mindfulness Meditation through the University of Toronto. As Outreach Coordinator at Yoga Therapy Toronto, I also developed community partnerships to bring accessible yoga programs to underserved populations and settings, including shelters, healthcare and recovery centres, mental health services, and schools.

Before dedicating myself more fully to yoga, I earned a university degree in Advertising and Marketing and spent over a decade working in the corporate world. I began practising yoga in Argentina, my birth country, in 2000, and later continued my professional journey in Toronto and Chicago. After several years in Chicago, I have returned to Toronto, where I continue to build meaningful connections through individual Yoga Therapy, group classes, corporate yoga teaching, and collaborative work with community organizations and healthcare settings.

I believe yoga should meet people where they are. My intention is to offer thoughtful, compassionate, and evidence-informed practices that support well-being, resilience, and a more connected relationship with the body and mind.

I look forward to meeting you where you are.

Warmly,
Laura
